KUALA LUMPUR: A family of four including a three-month-old infant are in a stable condition after the building they were in was crushed by a fallen crane.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm S. Shanmugamoorthy said the fallen crawler crane at a nearby construction site damaged a squatter house and two shops on Jalan 2/48A in Bandar Baru Sentul and also caused traffic congestion in the area.

"The baby suffered a broken leg but we can confirm that all who were injured are in a stable condition now," he said, adding that the family was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment.

ACP Shanmugamoorthy said police are now investigating to see if there were elements of negligence in the accident.
