Kenya Police Service select the Proton X70 as its official vehicle

Netizens congratulated Proton for being chosen as the official police vehicle in Kenya.

That was one of the reactions of social media users when they saw a post on Proton Kenya's Facebook page that displayed a row of Proton X70s at one of the vehicle importing companies.

Through a post on the Facebook page, Proton Kenya informed that it has handed over 30 units of Proton X70 SUVs to the national security personnel, 'Kenya Police Service' as their official vehicle.

They explained that the Proton X70 SUV model can bring superior style, better stability and comfort for the Kenyan National Police while carrying out their mandate.

According to Proton Kenya, the SUV has two colors, blue and green which has never been offered in Malaysia before.

The handover ceremony of 30 Proton X70 SUVs was held at the Simba Corporation Headquarters in Mombasa Road, yesterday.

Following the partnership, the average netizen expressed pride in the achievements of the country's first automotive company.

"Proud of Proton until 'outsiders' know the quality of our cars and our brand," wrote Anuar Alias.

Also leaving a comment was another user known as HW Jidin.

"Proud to see Malaysian brand vehicles in foreign countries," he said.

The X70 model is the first SUV launched by Proton at the end of 2018 and to date it has sold over 48,000 units in two years (2019-2020).

The Proton X70 was also exported to several foreign countries such as Brunei, Indonesia, Pakistan and the latest market in Kenya in August last year as a CKD (locally assembled) model.
