KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- National female bowler Natasha Mohamed Roslan
ended Malaysia's 12-year drought after winning the gold medal in the individual event at
the World Championships in Salmiya, Kuwait, tonight.
Even sweeter, the 27-year-old player brushed aside the challenge of compatriot Sin Li
Jane through a 2-1 result in the best-of-three games format at the Kuwait Bowling
Sporting Club.
Natasha got off to a great start in the first match after scoring 259 pinfalls compared to
Jane's 194.
Although Jane came back to win the second match 238-162, she could not match
Natasha's when she lost 165-185 in the deciding match and had to settle for
the silver medal.
The last time Malaysia won the gold medal in the event was through Jacqueline Sijore in
2011 in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, South Korean representatives Hong Hae Ni and Son Hye Rin each shared the
bronze, according to the website www.abf-online.org
