Kuala Lumpur: The Ministry of Education (KPM) will not compromise on the actions of an individual believed to be a coach who slapped a female volleyball player in a viral video on social media recently.

Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, said that his party would cooperate with the authorities in the investigation of the matter.

"A full report will follow and KPM asks witnesses to appear and provide information.

"The determination to create a safe school for all students will always be a priority," he said through a tweet yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh informed that she had discussed with Fadhlina about the matter.

"This (slap incident) is wrong. We (together with Fadhlina) are getting more information on this matter," he said in a tweet on Twitter today.

Previously, the media reported a video showing an individual believed to be the coach of a volleyball team slapping a player went viral on social media, recently.

The incident is believed to have happened during the 2022 Under-14 (U-14) Youth Volleyball Championship for the female category on December 16.

It is understood that the third place match involved the Melaka team against Johor at a school in Johor.

Based on the video  on Facebook, an individual believed to be the coach of the Melaka team was seen slapping two players who caused them to lose points before the game break.
