PUTRAJAYA: The National Average Grade for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results in 2022 is reported to be better than in 2021, with an average grade of 4.74 compared to 4.86 in 2021 which is a difference of 0.12, announced Malaysian Education Director General Datuk Pkharuddin Ghazali.

A total of 10,109 or 2.7 percent of candidates got Excellent results of grades A+, A and A- in all subjects, which is an increase of 0.02 percent or 413 candidates.

While a total of 75,322 or 20.1 percent of candidates obtained Honors by obtaining at least grade C for all subjects which is an increase of 1.3 percent or 3,480 candidates.



In addition, a total of 128,193 candidates or 34.4 percent passed by obtaining at least grade E in all subjects, which is an increase of 0.3 percent.

At the same time, the achievement gap of SPM candidates in 2022 between urban and rural areas has narrowed, which is by 0.03 points compared to SPM in 2021.

Pkharuddin said, 91.6 percent of SPM 2022 candidates are eligible to receive certificates out of 373,974 candidates who have attended and sat the exam.
