Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow was sworn in as Chief Minister for a second term at the Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri residence, Seri Mutiara, here.
Kon Yeow, 65, took the oath at about 9.35am in front of the, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.
Kon Yeow, when taking the oath, vowed to fulfill his duties as Chief Minister with the aim that all his efforts reflect his loyalty to Penang and preserve, protect and defend the state constitution.
Kon Yeow was accompanied by his wife, Tan Lean Kee.
Also present, State Government Secretary, Datuk Sayuti Bakar; State Legislative Assembly Speaker, Datuk Law Choo Kiang; National DAP Chairman, Lim Guan Eng and Penang National Front Chairman, Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir.
The Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) coalition succeeded in forming the state government by winning 29 of the 40 state assembly seats in the Penang State Election yesterday.
