PN's "Gelombang Hijau" or Green Wave phenomena that took the Northern Malaysian states by storm in PRU 15 has not stopped as seen from the PRN Results last night.
PN won all 32 seats in Terengganu, 43 of 45 Seats in Kelantan and 33 of 36 Seat in Kedah,
The Unity Government suffered heavy losses in Kedah, expectations were high that they would do well. In Sports their loss in the North would be called a thrashing! PN in Terengganu used the PAS logo and made a clean sweep of the seats.
As BN suffered heavy losses, The "Gelombang Hijau" of PN made big gains in Selangor, winning 22 seats and Penang 11 seats. The managed to win many of the Malay majority seats
BN Selangor Chief Megat Zulkarnain Omardin's loss to PN’s Hilman Idham in Gombak Setia by just 58 votes summed it all up. Hilman got 30,299 votes, while Megat Zulkarnain 30,241 dan Mohamed Salim, 1,076 undi.
PN's Gelombang Hijau even managed to get 5 seats in Negeri Sembilan.
Overall Perikatan Nasional won146 seats from the 245 contested(60%).
On a positive note, one could say that the Unity Government in Selangor managed to stop the PN'S Green Wave from winning in Selangor.
All Muda candidates, PSM, and 39 of 41other independent candidates - including five affiliated members of Bersatu and 11 Gerakan candidates - lost their deposit. Election candidates must obtain at least 12.5 percent of the vote in order not to lose their deposit. Two DAP rebels in Penang, David Marshel and Satees Muniandy, also lost their deposits.
The low voter turnout could be used as an excuse too, but the fact is PH and BN have to come up with a new strategy for the future elections to stop PN's Gelombang Hijau.
