PUTRAJAYA : The first Special Cabinet Meeting of the Unity Government after the reshuffle took place at Bangunan Perdana Putra, here, on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim with the new Cabinet of the Madani Government, at 10 am.
Anwar is understood to be giving a briefing on the new rules, narrative and direction of the Unity Government.
Today also, all the newly appointed ministers and deputy ministers as well as those who experienced portfolio changes after the Cabinet reshuffle officially started their duties.
All of them spent friendly time with their respective Ministry staff in addition to being given a task briefing.
On Tuesday, Anwar announced the appointment of five ministers and deputy ministers, including four new faces and the reappearance of five former ministers in the reshuffle of the Unity Government Cabinet.
The Prime Minister also announced the reorganization of ministries based on current needs involving the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change which is now divided into the Ministry of Energy Transition and Public Utilities and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communications and Digital is divided into the Ministry of Digital and the Ministry of Communications.
The reshuffle saw the number of Cabinet members increase from 28 to 31, while Deputy Ministers increased from 27 to 29, thus the total number of administrative members of the Unity Government is now 60 people
