KUALA LUMPUR: The police arrested a man to help investigate the case of throwing a 'molotov cocktail' which caused a fire in the vehicle of Beruas Member of Parliament, Ngeh Koo Ham in Taman Semarak Jaya, Ayer Tawar, Manjung last Wednesday.

The man involved was arrested in Shah Alam, Selangor at 4am on Friday.

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said his party also seized two mobile phones believed to belong to the man in his 30s.







"The suspect was remanded for five days starting today until next Tuesday for further investigation," he said in a statement here.

Mohs Yusri added that the case was investigated in accordance with Section 435 of the Penal Code and a conviction could result in imprisonment of up to 14 years and a fine.

At the same time, he said the police also asked the public who have information related to the incident to contact the Investigating Officer, Assistant Superintendent Mohd Azalan Ab Karim on 019-3927837 to assist with the investigation.

In the incident around 3am last Wednesday, the DAP leader involved along with his family members did not suffer any injuries.
