PETALING JAYA: Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri (pic) has been appointed the new chief executive officer of the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), effective March 11.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said that the decision was made by Finas' board of directors according to the Finas Act 1981 to replace acting CEO Shakib Ahmad Shakir, who had helmed the agency for the last four months.

Ahmad Idham’s tenure will be for two years.

“Ahmad Idham holds a degree in accounting from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and has the expertise and experience in various creative fields in the past 25 years, as well as made records and received various awards, locally and overseas,” Gobind said in a statement.

“I also hope that Finas' board members will be able to give their full cooperation to Ahmad Idham in executing reforms, in accordance with the government's direction,” he said, without eloborating.
