PETALING JAYA: Two police reports have been lodged over a Twitter user referring to the cops as dogs.

Bukit Aman CID D5 (Prosecution and Legal division) principal assistant director Senior Asst Comm Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the reports were lodged at the Jalan Tun Razak police station on Monday (Oct 14).

"The D5 Special Investigation Unit is handling the case.

"We are in the midst of tracking down the Twitter user," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Oct 15).

On Monday, a Twitter user named "Naavin Pillai (@naavinB)" replied to Klang MP Charles Santiago's post on the arrests of two DAP assemblymen allegedly linked to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

"Please vote in Parliament to defund and reduce salary of PDRM, remind them who is boss - Mahathir or 50+ MPs, Misbehaving dogs need to be disciplined," Naavin had said.

He also posted a picture of Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, with the caption "#petsatwork Anjing/Dogs and/bersama its Master/Tuhan".

The cases is classified under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for distributing prohibited content and Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for public mischief, SAC Mior said.

"We hope anyone with information can come forward as well," he added.
