KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here ruled that the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will get to keep RM500,000 which was seized from the Sabah-based political party, which was believed to be linked to 1MDB.

News portal Free Malaysia Today reported that the consent judgement was recorded before Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah here on Friday (Oct 18).

In June this year, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had forfeited RM270mil from 41 entities, of which RM509,560.96 was from LDP, alleging that the funds came from 1MDB.

It reported LDP's counsel Jagjit Singh as saying that with the consent judgment, only RM9,560.96 was actually forfeited.
