COVID-19: KJ warns hospital admissions are on the rise

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Minister warned hospitalisation rates were rising due to COVID-19.
Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said most of the cases were senior citizens and comorbids who were infected through close contact with family members who brought the virus home.
"Wear a mask and avoid crowded places. Get a dose of boosters when given an appointment," he said on Twitter today
The total number of patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was 541.
Cases in the ICU involved 274 COVID-19 patients who needed respiratory assistance and another 267 needed ventilators.
The highest bed usage rate was in Terengganu at 85.9 per cent, followed by Kelantan at 83.3 per cent, Melaka at 81.2 per cent, Kedah at 74.9 per cent, Labuan at 74.5 per cent and Johor at 73.8 per cent.
