The national men's badminton doubles, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik managed to win the first bronze medal for Malaysia at the Paris Olympics after defeating the world number two doubles, Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen from Denmark at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena, tonight.
The mission of defending the bronze medal won in Tokyo 2020 was achieved when Aaron-Soh Wooi eliminated the Danish pair with a score of 16-21, 22-20 and 21-19.
The country's number one doubles pair rallied from a first-set deficit to crush their opponents in the second set, then cruised to victory in the third set.
At Tokyo 2020, Aaron-Wooi Yik managed to beat former Indonesian world champion Mohamad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan to take home the bronze medal.
