Turkiye: 5 injured stabbed by a man suspected of video game addiction

ANKARA: A masked man wearing a bulletproof vest and helmet indiscriminately stabbed five people in an incident in northwestern Turkiye on Monday, Xinhua reported.
An 18-year-old man known as Arda K was arrested after the incident in Eskisehir, about 230 kilometers west of the capital Ankara, according to broadcaster TRT.
The victim was attacked while sitting in a cafe in front of a mosque and the suspect live-streamed the incident on his social media account, Daily Sabah newspaper reported.
All five victims were hospitalized with two of them in critical condition, according to the report.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said local police had begun an investigation into the attack.
Meanwhile, Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas said the cause of the incident was video game addiction, and the attackers were under the influence of war video games.
"I hope for a speedy recovery for all the victims injured in this brutal incident, which clearly shows the negative impact of digital games on the health of our children and teenagers," he added.
