Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari made the announcement when delivering a special message broadcast live today.
KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) will declare an event holiday for all the people of Selangor on August 14, if the coalition wins the state election (PRN) that takes place tomorrow.
Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari made the announcement when delivering a special message broadcast live today.
"I am also pleased to announce that if the coalition consisting of Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional succeeds in winning the Selangor PRN on August 12, and forming the Selangor State Government, we agree to declare a public holiday for all the people of Selangor on August 14, 2023 that is next Monday," he said.
The chairman of Harapan Negeri Selangor added that PRN in these six states is considered very important because it determines the direction of the State Government.
The Election Commission (SPR) set August 12 as the voting day for six states, namely Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
In Selangor, a total of 56 seats are up for grabs, with 3.74 million eligible voters exercising their responsibilities in the election.
