KUALA LUMPUR: The suspect in the case of stabbing two women with a rambo knife near the toilet of Surau Al-Ehsaniah Ahmadiah, Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya last Friday, has been arrested by the police, early this morning.
According to Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja'afar, the suspect, a 46-year-old local man, was arrested at a location in Kajang, Selangor.
"The suspect was arrested at his acquaintance's house in Kajang, Selangor at about 1.30am this morning and will be remanded this morning.
"The remand application process for the suspect will be made at the Petaling Jaya Court," he said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
In the 1.30pm incident, a 26-year-old saleswoman suffered head and stomach injuries while a 52-year-old head mistress suffered injuries to her left arm and hand.
Both victims were then sent to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment with the 26-year-old victim receiving further treatment, while the other victim was treated as an outpatient.
Initial police investigation found that the two victims did not know the suspect.
So far, seven witnesses have been recorded to help the investigation.
